The sketches were done in 16 colors and so should look fine on any monitor. Gradients were used to give the effect of more colors.
Barbara is very good at creating web art, where file size must be small. Most of these sketches are 17k or less, and will be even smaller when cropped. The entire "To the Manor Born" scene is only 26k.
